Welcome to the Reishit school web site where we will introduce you to the unique story of an exceptional school.

Reishit is an elementary school in Israel which integrates special-needs and regular education.

 It is distinctive in its flexible program which emphasizes the initiative of the children and their active role rather than the more common passive teaching style.

The study of Torah is woven into the exploration of geography, art, music, nature and science, and an appreciation of Jewish values. Reading, writing, and arithmetic are taught at the pace of each individual child and not at the pace of the class.

The children with special needs are treated as equals. Whether it be Down’s Syndrome, Autism or Cerebral Palsy, each child has his own program designed to help him realize all of his potential.
